At the session, the NA Office reported that it has well accomplished its tasks and gained comprehensive results on almost all aspects, making significant contributions to the success of the NA in the past tenure.

The NA Office also made outstanding results in reforming NA working sessions with the shift from “speeches” to “discussions and debates”, in conducting Q&A sessions, in organising both online and direct sittings during the past tenure, and in issuing NA resolutions.

In addition, the NA Office successfully held the 26th annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), assumed the role of President of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) 2020 and organised the AIPA 41 General Assembly in an online format.

Speaking at the meeting, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the NA Office and NA Secretariat are administrative bodies serving the operations of the NA with increasing amount of work and unexpected works, requiring their quick adaptation to the real situation.

He noted that voters increasingly pin high hopes on the NA and NA deputies, thus, NA Office and NA Secretariat must become more modern and professional in dealing with administrative and advisory work.

The NA leader also asked NA Office to enhance its operations in the future through the grasp of Party policies and Politburo resolutions, the improvements to capacity of NA Office staff, the promotion of cooperation, solidarity and unity among NA bodies, and others.

The NA Office was also requested to coordinate with relevant agencies to serve and provide consultancy to the organisation of the election of NA deputies and deputies to People’s Councils and building programmes to monitor and decide on the 5-year plans for the 2021-2025 period.
