According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a cold air front is moving southwards on October 13 and is forecast to affect north-eastern provinces and then north-western localities and some places in the north central region from October 14.

Due to the effects of the enhanced cold air combined with the circulation of storm no.8, the northern region to Quang Tri province will suffer heavy rains. In particular, localities from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh province will face very heavy rains.

From this afternoon to October 15, the capital city of Hanoi is expected to see moderate to heavy rains and a wave of cold air with lowest temperatures ranging from 20-22 degrees Celsius. The cold air is warned to be stronger from October 16.

The Gulf of Tonkin waters, including Bach Long Vi island district, will face strong winds of level 6 from now until tomorrow on October 14, even reaching levels 7-8 then. The strongest wind in the area near the centre of the storm will be at level 9, peaking at level 11.

There will also be strong northeastern winds and high sea waves in the Gulf of Tonkin and the north of the East Sea/South China Sea from the night of October 14.
