According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of cold air combined with the disturbances in the high east wind zone, from October 28 to the end of October 30, there will be moderate to heavy rain in the North Central and Central regions, and even very heavy rain in some areas.
The average rainfall of in the area from Nghe An Province to Quang Binh Province is forecast to reach 200-350mm, and more than 400mm in some places. From October 28 to 29, from Quang Tri Province to Quang Nam Province, the average rainfall will be 100-120mm,and even over 180mm in some places.
During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds. High risks of flash floods and landslides are warned for mountainousareas; meanwhile, low-lying and riverside areas arewarned of localised flooding.
From the afternoon of October 28, the North and North Central regions will turn cold with lowest temperature ranging from 18-21 degrees Celsius, and below 17 degrees Celsius in the northern mountainous areas. Hanoi is suffering from moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places and will turn cold.
There will also be strong northeastern winds and high waves in the Gulf of Tonkin and the north of the East Sea/South China Sea.
