It is co-organised by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE) and the World Wide Fund for Nature in Viet Nam (WWF-Viet Nam).

Nguyen Trung Thang, deputy director of ISPONRE, said the exhibition is expected to help visitors gain a better insight into the matter.

ISPONRE is working with the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade to establish an alliance of 15 retailers who agree to limit the use of single-use plastic bags, as part of a project funded by the EU and Germany, he said.

Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy, Director of WWF Vietnam's Plastic Waste Reduction Programme, said the event targets enterprises and consumers, offering them a more comprehensive view of the plastic pollution crisis, and pushing for their behavior changes towards sustainable business and consumption practices, especially during the peak shopping period before the upcoming Lunar New Year, the country's longest and most important holiday.

Taking place at the Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, the exhibition lasts until January 16.
