The complex covers 10 hectares in Lien Chieu district’s Hoa Khanh Nam commune and costs nearly VND900 billion (US$41.4 million).

The project is being developed in two phases, with the second phase scheduled to be completed by 2016 increasing the complex’s total treatment capacity to 700 tonnes of waste per day.

The complex uses a modern disposal technology thoroughly treating unlandfilled solid waste, releasing no secondary pollutants into the environment and producing renewable energy products from the solid waste.

According to Vice Chairman of the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the inauguration of the complex’s first phase will contribute significantly to protecting Da Nang’s environment and ensuring environmental standards for the city’s new-style rural area building campaign.
