Both sides reviewed the UK’s assistance to Vietnam via projects enhancing the national capability of coping with climate change and mitigating and controlling the impacts of greenhouse emissions, among others.

The Deputy PM expressed the hope that both countries would continue to coordinate in building a global framework on climate services, a legal framework on climate change and work together to advance weather forecast technologies.

Ambassador Lever proposed several initiatives regarding cooperation on climate change, including making joint preparations for the 21st Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) scheduled for this November in Paris, the most significant event to date regarding global negotiations on climate change.
