Addressing the awards ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Van Khoa emphasised that the honourees would be bright examples in the cause of environmental protection, contributing to mobilising other people and units to join hands to clean the environment in the city.

The awards were presented for six fields, namely State management, education, training and communication on environmental protection; consultancy and inspection of the implementation of policies and laws on environmental protection; research and application of scientific and technological advances; prevention and reduction of bad impacts on environment; protection and rational use of natural resources and conservation of biodiversity and biosafety; and implementation of strategies for green growth strategy and coping with climate change.

Over the past years, the relevant agencies in Ho Chi Minh City have paid much attention to the field of natural resources and environment and gained initial results in environmental protection, climate change adaptation and improvement of the quality of living environment for residents.
