The week aims to raise public awareness of the efforts to build a society resilient to natural disasters for sustainable development.

The PM required that activities during the week must be in line with the law, practical, effective and cost-saving.

The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control will set annual themes for the week and instruct ministries, agencies, and people’s committees of cities and provinces to hold activities in response to the event.

They are also assigned to earmark State budget and other expenditures for the effort.
