The event, which also includes the launch of a donation drive to raise funds for victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, is held by the Youth Union of the Central Business Bloc, in coordination with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

At the programme, nearly 500 officials, Youth Union members and youngsters under the Central Business Bloc printed their fingerprints, committing to "Joining hands for a green Vietnam", while raising funds worth VND40 million to support victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.

The participants also joined local residents in collecting electronic garbage and parading the walking streets around Hoan Kiem Lake to raise public awareness on protecting the environment in response to the Earth Hour campaign.

The highlight of the campaign is the light turning off event which will last for one hour on Saturday of the last week of March - from 20:30 to 21:30 tonight.

For the eighth time, the event has been deployed by the Youth Union of the Central Business Bloc and EVN in response to the Earth Hour and has received a positive response from officials, Youth Union members and youngsters under multiple corporations, companies and banks under the bloc.

The campaign is also a part of the activities to respond to the Youth Month 2019 and celebrate the 88th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931-2019).
