The information was announced by the Coordination Board of the “Adaptation in the Mekong Delta” (AMD) project in Tra Vinh province at a conference held in the locality on June 18 to review the project.
According to director of AMD Tra Vinh project’s coordination board, Huynh Nghia Tho, said that the project, which was funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), was implemented from 2014 to 2020, aiming to help 15,000 poor and near-poor households in 30 communes in the province improve their adaptive capacity and livelihoods to cope with climate change.
Total investment capital for the project was over VND522 billion (US$22.5 million), of which over VND233.5 billion (US$10.07 million) came from IFAD loan capital, over VND126.5 billion (US$5.4 million) from the IFAD’s non-refundable aid, nearly VD79.5 billion (US$3.42 million) from the Vietnamese Government's counterpart fund and the remainder from beneficiaries.
The CCA fund, one of four investment sources for the project, has brought about practical effectiveness through the direct support of poor and near-poor households, business households and cooperatives, with priority given to Khmer people and women.
The CCA funded 886 business and the production plants of over 7,400 beneficiaries between 2014 and 2019.
