Under the agreement, the VWSA will represent the IWA in Vietnam.

Governing members of the IWA are at the heart of efforts on the ground at the national and regional levels, who convene with local people to share best practices and explore new ways of innovating water solutions, according to the VWSA website.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, IWA Executive Director Kalanithy Vairavamoorthy said the organisation is eager to work with the VWSA as an important partner as well as a bridge between the global network and Vietnamese water experts and officials.

Through the cooperation with the IWA, the capacity and skills of Vietnamese water officials will be enhanced by connecting with colleagues around the world.

VWSA Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Diep stated that the signing of the cooperation agreement with the IWA offers the Vietnamese water sector an opportunity to integrate with the global water network, and expects that the cooperation between the VWSA and the IWA will grow further and bring about positive outcomes.
