The Vietnamese power utility ranks 53th among 86 power companies from 37 countries in the world, climbing 17 notches from the 2020 rankings.

In Southeast Asia, EVNHCMC shares the same position with Thailand’s MEA and Malaysia’s TNB and trails behind only SP Group, while standing above the Philippines’ Meralco, Thailand’s PEA and Indonesia’s PLN.

Last year, with a score of 51.8, EVNHCMC ranked 70th in the world and behind SP Group, TNB, Meralco, MEA and PEA in Southeast Asia.

SP Group’s smart grid index is measured by seven dimensions, namely monitoring and control, supply reliability, green energy, data analytics, distributed energy resources integration, security, and customer empowerment and satisfaction.

Since 2016, EVNHCMC has started building a smart power grid to enhance supply capacity and meet the rising demand for power of Ho Chi Minh City’s customers.
