The event was organised by the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), with an aim to raise awareness of civil servants and diplomats in 88 OIF members of challenges brought by digital technology.

Participants discussed the significance of ICT infrastructure development to allow access for all, together with criteria to ensure open and neutral Internet connection.

They also touched on cyber security and personal data processing, ways to improve data protection and privacy for both individuals and organisations, along with fair competition for innovation and growth.

Digital technology serves as a leverage for the continuation of economic activities amid preventive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, changes like remote working, online meeting and other platforms have fostered economic recovery in the context of the pandemic, heard the event.

Speaking to the Vietnam News Agency’s correspondent, Thang said that valuable experience shared at the event will help Vietnam bolster its national capacity to take action and adjust its digital environment in the post-pandemic period, so as to promote diversity in economy, culture, science and academy.
