Northern and Central regions continue to face intense heat

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the heat will continue to be intense in the Northern and Central regions today (June 22), with some places being more than 39 degrees Celsius.

From June 25-26, the heat wave is likely to increase in the northern, midland, and central regions.

It is forecast that the central region will continue to face intense heat today (June 22), with the highest temperature commonly at 36-38 degrees Celsius and even exceeding 39 degrees Celsius in some places. The temperature of over 35 degrees are likely to last for 10-18 hours.

The Hanoi area today is hot and sunny with the highest common temperature of 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places reaching more than 38 degrees Celsius. On June 23, the sun will shine hot with the highest common temperature of 35 -36 degrees Celsius.

The weather agency has warned of heightened risks of fires and explosions in residential areas due to a spike in electricity use as well as forest fires in central provinces.

It also cautioned the people in affected areas of the health risks, such as dehydration, exhaustion and stroke, due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
