The system, with a capacity of 3kWp, the first of its kind in the province, has a total investment of around US$15,000.
The system was designed and installed by Raach Solar company and will be operated and managed by the Department’s energy experts.
The system is expected to help An Giang to avoid emissions of 2.1 tonnes of CO2 per year and serve as a model for solar energy generation.
According to Doan Minh Triet, Deputy Head of the provincial Industry and Trade Department, the energy sector is focusing on renewable energy in order to meet the increasing demand for power and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to adapting to climate change and environmental protection.
