Viettel provides users with free experience of 5G technology

The Military-run telecommunications group, Viettel, announced its completion of the 5G network coverage in Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, on September 20.

The group also provided its users with free experience of several applications based on 5G technology for the first time in Vietnam.

The experience is provided in the lobby of Viettel Complex building in Ward 12, District 10, on September 20-21, within the framework of the announcement ceremony of 5G technology.

The core architecture of 5G network launched by Viettel is Option 3x (NSA Non – standalone) according to the most modern 3GPP standard that is used by major telecommunications carriers in the world.

According to Tao Duc Thang, Deputy General Director of the Military-run telecommunications group Viettel, the official coverage of 5G network in Ho Chi Minh is an important step launched by the group to bring Vietnam into being one of the first countries in the world to commercialise 5G services.
