Activities to celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day this year will be organised in a thrifty and practical manner in accordance with the Prime Minister's Directive on the continuation of measures to prevent and combat the COVID-19 epidemic.

The 2020 Ta Quang Buu Award will be presented to acknowledge the efforts and success of scientists who have made significant contributions to national socio-economic development.

Since its launch in 2014, the prize has received positive recognition from the scientific community as a prestigious and quality award. It has encouraged and motivated scientists as well as scientific and technological organisations towards high quality research in Vietnam, fostering the development of an academic, creative and innovative environment to promote the development of strong research teams in order to undertake research at an international level.

In addition, the Science and Technology Press Awards 2020 will be held to honour press work for providing full coverage of the activities and achievements of the science and technology sector in terms of increasing the national economy’s competitiveness, improving the business environment, reforming administrative procedures, and supporting businesses in their operation, particularly start-up companies.
