According to Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hung, in recent years, Hanoi has become the leading city in the country in building an automatic air monitoring system, providing reliable monitoring data as well as promptly issuing warnings and recommend measures to protect the health of the people.

The 24 newly-received automatic air monitoring stations lift the total number of automatic air monitoring stations in the city to 35, gradually meeting the air quality monitoring needs of the people, and improving the efficiency of State management and developing policies on protecting air quality.

At the ceremony, Hanoi authorities also assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to put the 24 stations into operation and connect them to the city’s monitoring system.

At the same time, it was also proposed to strengthen the implementation of forecasting and warning technologies to help protect people’s health.
