Two more first prizes were also presented to the best press works in the printed newspaper and television categories at the awards ceremony held in Hanoi on June 16.
Four second place and four third place prizes were awarded to other outstanding entries on the occasion.
While congratulating the awards winners, Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh hailed that reporters and journalists have made positive contributions to popularising the science and technology sector’s achievements among the public and raising people’s awareness of the sector’s role in life.

For his part, Ho Quang Loi, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association and Chairman of the Awards’ Council, stressed that press works on sci-tech have helped to inspire the love for science and technology among younger generations while providing readers and audiences with updated knowledge and the opportunity to experience the latest achievements in the field.
Hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the awards were first launched in 2012 to encourage journalists and press agencies to be more positive in reporting on sci-tech research outcomes in order to bring the latest advances to life and production.
This year’s event received around 500 entries from both local and central newspapers and radio and television stations across the country. They were divided into four categories: newspapers, online newspapers, radio, and television.
