Contest launched in search for digital transformation solutions for Vietnam

A contest themed ‘Searching for digital transformation solutions’ (Viet Solutions) was launched in Hanoi on July 8 by the Ministry of Information and Communications and Viettel Group.

The contest aims to find innovative and feasible technological ideas and projects that can be used in various fields and social industries in the National Digital Transformation programme.

It is open to individuals, teams, groups, organisations, and companies around the world with team members aged 18 years and above, whereby at least one of them can present their ideas in English.

The participants are invited to submit their products or solutions in nine fields, including mobile applications (game content, music, video, news, multimedia and utilities, OTT products, and social networks), medicine, education, finance and banking, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy, natural resources and the environment, and industrial production.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung stated that the contest will help to promote digital transformation for the building of a prosperous Vietnam.

He called for enthusiastic participation from all individuals and business communities operating in digital technology.

The contest’s preliminary round will receive applications until September 20, from which the 10 most outstanding teams will be selected for the final round, scheduled for mid-October. Before entering the final round, the finalists will receive a short training course hosted by Vietnamese and international experts from leading economic universities such as Harvard, the International Angel Investment Fund and famous CEOs.

The contest’s champion will receive a cash prize of VND200 million while the second and third prize winners will bag VND100 million and VND50 million, respectively.

In addition, the winning teams will have the opportunity to become a partner of Viettel, allowing them to provide services to nearly 100 million customers around the globe and enjoy profit-sharing of up to 75%.

They can also participate in the final round of C1 start-up competition in the US, with a total prize value of US$50,000, or join the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021 in Barcelona. All expenses incurred shall be paid by Viettel.
