The digital transformation programme has set the target that the city will become a smart city by 2030, with fundamental and comprehensive innovation in the operation of the digital government apparatus, digital businesses and the prosperity and civilisation of a digital society.
Specifically, by 2025, the rate of files processed by online public services at levels 3 and 4 should reach over 50%; at least 90% of people and businesses should be satisfied with the administrative procedures; the digital economy should account for 25% of the GRDP, and annual labour productivity should increase by at least 7%. By 2030, the city aims to provide 100% of level 4 online public services on a variety of means of access, including mobile devices, etc.
The announcement of the digital transformation programme reflects that the city has chosen a faster development path based on human intelligence, while promoting the power of information technology and artificial intelligence, said Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.
The upcoming City Party Congress will propose a breakthrough programme on human resources, especially in information technology, communications and artificial intelligence. At the same time, it will identify IT products as the key product group.
He suggested that the city authorities research and establish a centre for introducing consulting products, deploying digital services and developing smart products.
