The money will be allocated to fixing and repairing major facilities and infrastructure in the communes of Cam Thuy (Cam Lo district), Phong Binh (Gio Linh district), Hien Thanh (Vinh Linh district), Hai Thuong (Hai Lang district), Trieu Trach (Trieu Phong district), Thuan (Huong Hoa district), and Mo O (Dakrong district), and at the Quang Tri Technical College.

The above-mentioned communes were recently ravaged by the historic floods in October 2020, which seriously damaged or swept away many schools, bridges, roads, houses , ditches and irrigation canals.

Quang Tri province has received enthusiastic support from individuals and organisations both at home and abroad in responding to the historic floods, dealing with its aftermath, and in terms of the reconstruction efforts.

Local authorities have disbursed more than VND60 billion from the aid to provide emergency support for flood-hit households, helping them resume production activities and stabilising their lives.

Earlier in the 2013-2017 period, Quang Tri province partnered with the KOICA in implementing the “Happiness Programme in Quang Tri”, whereby KOICA offered US$9.6 million in non-refundable aid to the province to increase living conditions for the locales affected.
