Ho Chi Minh City Creative Innovation and Start-up Awards launched

The 2021 Ho Chi Minh City Creative Innovation and Start-up Awards (I-Star 2021) were officially launched by the City’s Department of Science and Technology on April 1.

This is the fourth year that the I-Star Awards have been held to honour organisations and individuals with outstanding achievements in creative innovation and start-up activities in the city.

Over the three years from 2018 to 2020, the awards attracted 749 profiles of four participating groups (start-ups, media, creative innovation solutions and individuals and organisations supporting start-up activities). Accordingly, 33 profiles were honoured.

In 2020, the I-Star Awards were highly appreciated with 303 entries, of which 40 selected for the final round.

I-Star 2021 will consist of 12 prizes. Each winner will receive a certificate of recognition, a souvenir trophy, and a reward of VND50 million.

The annual award is held jointly by eight departments and agencies in Ho Chi Minh City including the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Industry and Trade, High-tech Park, High-tech Agricultural Park, the Department of Education and Training, and the Department of Finance.
