Running until August 8, the contest seeks solutions and innovative ideas from youth union members, students, and young people aged between 16 and 35, who are Vietnamese citizens and currently live in Vietnam.

Their ideas and solutions should focus on creative communication to raise public awareness about climate change, climate change mitigation, climate-responsible business strategies, and climate adaptation, prioritising nature-based solutions.

The ten most outstanding entries will be selected for the final round of the contest, with a first prize of VND50 million. Two second, three third and four consolation prizes will also be awarded on the occasion.

In addition, during its eight weeks of implementation, the organisers will present eight prizes, each worth VND500,000 to the highest voted entry each week.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Secretary of the HCYU Central Committee Ngo Van Cuong expressed his hope that the Vietnamese youth in general and youth union members in particular, will propose creative, practical ideas that are suitable for each local and regional situation in order to help mitigate the impact of climate change.

For her part, UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam Caitlin Wiesen affirmed the contest is one of the core accelerators to unlock the full potential of the youth for advancing the climate agenda, adding that the UNDP looks forward to the innovative youthful designs to shape a green Vietnam that will lead on climate action.
