Vietnamese students bag two gold medals at international innovation contest

Vietnamese students bagged two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals at the 14th Edition of the International Invention and Innovation Contest (INTARG) 2021, held on June 15-16 in virtual format.

Gold medals were secured by two teams - VN 1, comprised of Nguyen Hoang Dam Thuyen, Nguyen Hoang An, Nguyen Thuy Duong, Do Phuong Linh and Nguyen Minh Hang; and VN 2, featuring Le Minh Kiet, Duong Quoc Minh, Pham Thuc Hien, and Pham Ngoc Thuy Linh.

The awardees are students from the Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, the High School for Gifted Students at the Hanoi National University of Education, and the Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted.

Notably, the VN 1 team was honoured with the Special award from the Haller Pro Inventio Foundation, for their excellent invention at the event.
INTARG 2021 attracted many inventions and innovative solutions from contestants worldwide, including Canada, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, and China.

The Vietnamese delegation to the event was made up of 19 members, who competed in five areas of scientific research, such as biochemistry and environmental science. All of them were sorted and trained by the Research Institute of Creative Education (RICE).

Vietnamese students brought home a gold medal for their project on utilising collagen and chitosan from freshwater fish scales to treat blood cholesterol issues.
