Launched by the Department of Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises, the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the Vietnam Science and Technology Enterprise Startup Fund, the Office of Project 844, the Vietnam National Innovation Centre and other accompanying partners, Techfest Vietnam expects to bring together thousands of innovative start-ups, support units, experts and investors from many technology fields and aspects related to domestic and international creative start-ups.

At the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung emphasised that, adapting to the new normal and expanding opportunities for knowledge access and global connectivity, Techfest Vietnam 2022 features a series of activities in both online and direct forms, applying advanced technologies such as: 2D and 3D virtual exhibitions, virtual reality meeting rooms for seminars, professional conferences, contests, and head-to-head connections held privately on a unified platform.
Techfest Vietnam 2022 promises to bring many new experiences and new opportunities for attendees, whether they be investors, policy makers, experts, advisors, coaches, founders, or research groups, whether in Vietnam or elsewhere around the world.
Techfest Vietnam 2022 also see appearance of new technology villages, to introduce and exchange technologies that are currently of particular interest such as: blockchain technology, pharmaceutical technology, metaverse, and digital transformation. In particular, investment connection activities are implemented methodically with legal support services to help promote investment attraction for innovative start-ups.
In 2021, amid the pandemic, Techfest Vietnam 2021 was still successfully organised and held in both live and online forms, attracting more than 2.5 million participants in more than 90 events.
The event was attended by the Prime Minister, representatives of relevant ministries, departments and sectors, more than 100 investors and nearly 500 domestic and international speakers. It attracted a total investment commitment of more than 15.1 million USD in 3 days, contributing to the overall 1.5 billion USD investment in innovation in Vietnam in 2021.
Techfest Vietnam aims to promote a favourable environment for the formation and development of innovative start-up businesses and to inspire and motivate innovation to each individual according to the orientations from the Government, expressing the desire for a better and more civilized future.
