Vietnam wins two medals in world Microsoft Office contest

Nhan Dan Online - Vietnamese students secured two bronze medals at the finals of the Microsoft Office Specialist Word Championship 2014 (MOSWC) in California, the US, from July 27-30.

Tran Minh Tien from the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City won a bronze medal in the Microsoft Excel category whilst the other bronze medal went to Tran Duc Duy, 10th grader from Dinh Thien Ly School, Ho Chi Minh City.

This year’s competition which attracted 110 teams from around the world, consisted of an exam and an event where students recreate a sample document on their respective programmes.

The annual competition aims to encourage students between the ages of 13 and 22 to show off their skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft programs, as well as to provide an intellectual playground for younger generation to enhance their computer skills and work performance.

The next MOSWC is scheduled to take place in Vietnam in 2015.
