The project, which has been implemented by the SHTP, the United States Agencies for International Development (USAID) and the US’s Arizona State University, is part of the USAID-initiated project on the building of an alliance of universities and businesses through technological creativity and innovation.

The innovation space for inventors covers 200 square metres and is supported with the USAID’s modern technological equipment in service of research and innovation activities. It will help lecturers to build and implement subjects and seminars based on supply projects open to students, thereby positively influencing the construction of innovation culture, occupational skills, creativity and the startup spirit.

According to Le Quoc Hoai, Head of the SHTP Management Board, the park has attracted a lot of investors, both domestic and foreign, over the past years, thus giving a strong boost to the development of advanced technology in Vietnam and promoting the manufacturing of high-tech products in the country.

With the newly-launched innovation space, the SHTP will accelerate the implementation of innovation activities among students, aiming to turn their ideas into real products, Hoai noted.

US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius said he believed that the space would be a “magnet”, attracting students and enterprises to carry out research and investment activities, thus accelerating technological development in the country.

The space functions as an important motivation to facilitate Vietnamese students’ creativity and innovation, he said, stressing the significance of the connection between the government, businesses and universities, in nurturing the development of innovation among enterprises.
