Vietnam’s second observatory to open in June

Vietnam’s second observatory, located in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (Hanoi), will open this June, according to the Vietnam National Space Centre.

This is the second observatory of its kind in the country after the first was established at Chong Islet offshore of Nha Trang tourist city, and is equipped with hi-tech modern observatory facilities.

The Hoa Lac Observatory covers three main categories: it is the largest telescope in Vietnam with a diametre of 0.5 m, boasts a cosmic projection screen with a 12m diametre dome, and features a museum of the cosmos showing a variety of models related to space, satellite, physics, and astronomy.

Vietnam’s first observatory in Nha Trang has been in operation since 2017.
