Scientists discuss AI development at Hanoi seminar

More than 100 scientists and technological experts from universities, research institutes and research centres around the world gathered for a seminar on artificial intelligence (AI), which opened in Hanoi on August 21.

Discussions at the seminar focused on suggestions for AI development in Vietnam as well as AI technologies and methods which are integrated with resources and policy orientations, to provide a foundation for the research and application of AI in Vietnam in the coming time.

The event is co-organised by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Education and Training under the framework of the innovative network connection programme from August 18-24.

The aim of the seminar is to share the vision and guideline of the Vietnamese Party, State and Government on opportunities brought by sci-tech and the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) as well as on how to utilise its achievements in key areas and sectors.

It is also intended to develop a connection network among Vietnamese intellectuals at home and abroad and encourage their participation in the building of research plans in the context of Industry 4.0
