The event was attended by a working delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA), led by member of Party Central Committee and Chairman of NA Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Phan Xuan Dung; Indian parliamentarians; representatives of India’s leading businesses that are operating in science and technology, environment, solar energy and high technology; as well as scholars and researchers from the host country.
Speaking at the event, Chairman Dung highly valued India’s achievements in science and technology, particularly in information technology, space technology and solar energy.
He noted that Vietnam and India have maintained effective cooperation in science and technology, and defence and security, expressing his thanks to the Indian Government for its recently-announced aid of US$10 million for building technical villages in Vietnam.
For his part, Indian MP N. Gokulakrishnan stressed the roundtable’s significance in bolstering Vietnam - India relations through science and technology, pledging that India would continue fostering its sci-tech link with Vietnam, thus contributing to lifting bilateral ties to new heights.
Participants at the event exchanged their opinions on the current situation regarding bilateral ties, and Vietnam’s policies on encouraging investment in scientific research and technological development.
