The information was released by Tran Minh Tan, Director of the Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre at a conference on October 24 on ICT law enforcement.
“.vn” is the domain at the highest level under the management of Vietnam.
The domain is open to registration on an equal, non-discriminatory and first-come-first-served basis, excluding the specially protected domains and those reserved for auction in accordance with the Ministry of Information and Communications’ regulations.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Anh Tuan asked provinces and centrally-governed cities to step up the registration and use of the “.vn” domain in order to enhance the value of the national TLD.
