The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) is an annual competition for high school students. It is one of the international science Olympiads.

The main goal of the IOAA is to promote the growing interest in astronomy and related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects, especially through the general education of young people, while enhancing the development of international contacts among different countries in promoting astronomy and astrophysics in schools.

The first IOAA was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in November 2007.

Vietnam first attended the IOAA in 2016, during which the team pocketed one silver medal and four consolation prizes.
