NDO - In Vietnam, in the context of the digital economy, the fourth industrial revolution, and international integration, the requirement to improve the quality of human resources, especially local human resources, is the basis for the rapid and sustainable development of the country as well as an important premise for building learning models.

Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia made the statement on May 24 at a national symposium on improving the quality of human resources, especially local human resources, through the implementing learning models.

Human resources are the most basic and important factor in the implementation of the socio-economic development strategy, he said, adding that the experiences of other countries show that the quality of human resources depends on investment in developing a modern education system, helping create equal access to education for everyone, as well as creating opportunities for the comprehensive development of quality and capacity, meeting the requirements of society and international integration.

He suggested the workshop focus on clarifying the current situation of human resource quality under the model of “Learning Citizens” in sectors, fields, and target groups of leaders, managers, and employees; especially the quality of human resources, staff in administrative and non-business agencies, and teachers in education and training institutions; while at the same time pointing out the inadequacies and limitations in human resource training and retraining; in implementing and integrating a number of topics into political education curricula at educational and training institutions and political academic centres.
