On July 6, the Vientiane Times reported that the school, worth 10 million VND, has two floors, with seven fully equipped classrooms, educational materials, electricity and water connections, including a teacher's office and ten toilets.
The newspaper said the new school will provide a good educational environment, helping to raise educational standards, which will not only support much-needed educational reform efforts and help improve human resource development in Laos but also make an important contribution to strengthening the traditional relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
Construction began in October 2019, however, the construction period was longer than expected due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the close cooperation between the contractor and the sponsor, the school was completed and put into use for the 2021-2022 school year.
According to the Vientiane Times, the cooperation between Laos and Vietnam covers all fields, especially in the fields of education and human resource development. Over the past ten years, more than 50,000 Laotian citizens have attended universities or short-term training courses in Vietnam, bringing in new knowledge and contributing to the development process in Laos. Currently, about 14,000 Lao citizens are studying in Vietnam.
