Ngo Quy Dang from the Archimedes Academy earned first place in the list of top ten competitors.

Tran Xuan Bach from the Doan Thi Diem Primary School; Nguyen Hoang Trung, Cao Thuy An and Pham Truong Dat from the Hanoi-Amsterdam Secondary School; and Tran Dac Nhat Anh from the Nguyen Truong To Secondary School claimed the third, fourth, eighth, ninth and eleventh places, respectively.

The gold medallists were among ten Vietnamese candidates who competed at the event. The ten-member team was among 473 outstanding students who qualified for the first round of the contest.

Last year, Vietnam also claimed gold medals at the prestigious contest, which is held annually by the Hwa Chong Academy in Singapore to generate greater interest in mathematics among pupils in primary schools and sharpening their problem-solving skills.

This year’s event drew around 260 contestants from 13 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region.
