According to the ministry, the graduation rate is 98.36% in the high school education system and 88.37% in the continuing education system.

Over 879,000 students took this year’s exam to gain high school graduation. They included nearly 810,400 high school students and over 69,300 others in the continuing education system.

The provinces with a rate exceeding 99% include Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Long An, Vinh Long, and Bac Ninh.

Certain less privileged localities such as northern Cao Bang and central Quang Ngai and Ninh Thuan provinces recorded a graduation rate of over 92%, while that for the especially difficult northernmost province of Ha Giang was 89.35%.

The exam result analysis shows the objectivity, honesty and justice in organising the national high school exam in 2018, the MoET said, adding that it was an information channel to classify the quality of secondary education across every region nationwide.
