Vietnam wins gold at 2018 International Chemistry Olympiad

All four members of the Vietnamese team that participated in the 2018 International Chemistry Olympiad won medals, including one gold, two silvers and one bronze, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on July 29.

The gold medal went to Pham Duc Anh, a 12th grader from the Natural Science High School for Gifted Students under Hanoi National University.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Chi Nguyen, an eleventh grader from Lam Son High School for Gifted Students in Thanh Hoa province and Hoang Thanh Tung, a 12th grader from Le Hong Phong High School for Gifted Students in Nam Dinh province, secured silver medals.

Phan Nhat Duat, a 12th grader from Phan Boi Chau High School for Gifted Students in Nghe An province won the bronze medal.

The 50th International Chemistry Olympiad 2018 was held in Slovakia and the Czech Republic from July 19-29, with the participation of 304 candidates from 82 countries and territories worldwide.

Previously, the information from Portugal stated that the Vietnamese team attending the 2018 International Physics Olympiad won two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
