Vietnamese students bag four medals at international biology contest

Vietnamese students have won one silver and three bronze medals at the 2019 International Biology Olympiad held in the Hungarian city of Szeged, the Ministry of Education and Training has announced.

The silver medal went to 12th grader Hoang Minh Trung from the Lam Son High School for Gifted Students in Thanh Hoa province.

The bronze medal winners are 12th grader Duong Tung Lam from the Phan Boi Chau High School for Gifted Students in Nghe An province, 11th grader Ha Vu Huyen Linh from the VNU High School for Gifted Students in Hanoi and 12th grader Hoang Thi Huyen Trang from the Hung Vuong High School for Gifted Students in Phu Tho province.

This year’s contest saw the participation of 285 students from 75 countries and territories.

The Ministry of Education and Training is scheduled to welcome the students home at Noi Bai Airport on the morning of July 25.

Earlier, Vietnamese students won two golds and four silvers at the International Mathematics Olympiad held in the United Kingdom.
