Vietnam listed among top 5 at inl't mathematics competition

The Vietnamese team finished top 5 at the 2019 International Mathematics Competition (IMC) held in South Africa from August 1 to 6.

This year’s event attracted the participation of outstanding students from over 40 countries and territories around the world.

Vietnam sent 15 students from the Hanoi-Amsterdam School for Gifted Students to compete at the categories for those under 14 and from 14-17 years old.

In the individual contest, Vietnamese students won four gold and five silver medals, and one consolation prize.

In the team event, Vietnam's students secured two champion cups, one first and two second place prizes.

On the side-lines of the contest, members of the Vietnamese team also took part in various cultural activities.
