Hanoi to broadcast lectures on television

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training is planning to broadcast lessons and lectures via television, scheduled to begin airing on March 9.

The information was released after Hanoi confirmed the first case of Covid-19 on March 6 and also announced that students’ return to school will be postponed further.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Chu Xuan Dung said that the department has been working with Hanoi Television to build online learning plans for students.

The recording and editing of lesson content for students will be carried out, particularly for students at the end of grades like ninth and 12th grades.

At the meeting of the Hanoi Steering Committee for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic held on the morning of March 7, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee cum Head of the Steering Committee Nguyen Duc Chung decided to adjust the school return date for students in Hanoi.

Accordingly, senior high school students will not return to school on March 9 as scheduled.

Meanwhile, preschool children and students at all levels will continue to stay at home for another week from March 9 – 15.

All vocational schools which have allowed teaching from March 2 will have to temporarily suspend operations from March 9-15.
