Localities adjust entrance exams for entry to grade 10

Due to the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, many localities across the country have adjusted the exam schedule and exam method for the 10th grade.

The People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province has decided to change the enrollment method from holding entrance exams to admission process.

Senior high schools in the province will review aspirations registered by candidates and their academic results in grades 6,7,8,9 to allow admission to grade 10.

Accordingly, Ba Ria – Vung Tau has become the first province in the country to cancel the annual entrance exams to the 10th grade.

*The Hanoi Department of Education and Training said on June 2 that it will adjust the exam schedule and time to ensure the safety of students.

Students will attend the entrance exams on the mornings of June 12 and 13 with two subjects held on each morning to facilitate parents in picking up their children.

In addition, F0 and F1 students in Hanoi will be admitted to public schools that they applied for without taking the entrance exams so as to ensure safety amid the pandemic.

*Meanwhile, Phu Yen Province decided to postpone the exams for entry to grade 10 until after June 20, which was previously scheduled for June 10 and 11, in the fear of the pandemic.

*In Ha Tinh Province, more than 15,600 students attended the entrance exams to grade 10 on June 2

*More than 17,200 students in Binh Duong Province also sat the entrance exams to grade 10 on June 2 while strictly following 5K regulations.

*All 113 students in Dien Bich Commune, Dien Chau District, Nghe An Province were tested for the COVID-19 virus before attending the entrance exams as Dien Bich Commune is under social distancing according to Government Directive 15.
