Localities implement flexible measures against COVID-19

Immediately after detecting the first COVID-19 case in Vinh City, Nghe An Province has implemented a blockade and social isolation order on eight blocks of Ha Huy Tap Ward.

Strict social distancing has been also deployed for the rest of Ha Huy Tap Ward in accordance with the PM’s Directive 15.

As the neighbouring province of Ha Tinh has recorded six more infections, bringing the total to 62 cases in five administrative units, the People's Committee of Nghi Xuan District has issued a decision to temporarily block three villages in Cuong Gian Commune and set up two checkpoints on the blockage areas.

In Hanoi, the Tan Trieu facility of K Hospital (known as National Cancer Hospital) announced the decision of the Minister of Health on ending the medical isolation against COVID-19 that was applied on the facility for 39 days. All departments are being cleaned to ensure the highest safety before the hospital reopens on June 16,.

Following the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi Department of Transport on the repatriation of Hanoi citizens from the COVID-19 hotbed of Bac Giang Province, the Hanoi Transport Corporation has arranged 20 buses of 60-80 seats for safe transportation of 286 Hanoians from the neighbouring province, starting from June 15.

The Ministry of Education and Training has asked localities to prepare conditions and plans for COVID-19 prevention and control, giving priority to vaccination for officials, civil servants and public employees of the ministry appointed to participate in the inspection and examination of the upcoming 2021 national high school graduation exams.

Tien Giang Province is experiencing an outbreak of COVID-19 and implementing strict social distancing orders, especially in Cai Be District and Cai Lay Town. Meanwhile, the provinces of Long An and Ben Tre are also mobilising forces to control entries entering and leaving the provinces, especially those from Tien Giang Province.

This morning, Vietnam reported 71 more COVID-19 infections, including one imported case, according to the Ministry of Health.

Among the locally-transmitted cases, 28 infections were detected in Bac Giang Province, 23 in Ho Chi Minh City, and 19 in Bac Ninh Province.

The figure raised the national tally to 10,881, including 9,238 local infections and 1,643 imported cases. The number of cases since the fourth COVID-19 wave hit the country on April 27 is 7,668.

The ministry said as many as 4,236 patients have been given the all-clear from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 so far, while the death toll is 61.

Among active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals, 431 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, 72 twice and 73 thrice.

Twenty-three provinces have gone through 14 consecutive days without new cases.

As many as 182,462 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or entered Vietnam from pandemic-hit regions are currently being quarantined across the country, including 2,045 in hospitals, 36,846 in concentrated quarantine establishments and the remainder at their places of residence.

On June 14, an additional 45,328 people in 19 provinces and cities were vaccinated against COVID-19. Over 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected to date. The number of people to have received their full two shots stands at 59,608.
