26 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in these localities in the last three days, related to an outbreak at the Hoc Mon wholesale market in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Dong Nai province has decided to establish 121 COVID-19 safety inspection teams at businesses and in industrial parks. In addition to inspections, they will also regularly monitor and guide epidemic prevention and control to ensure safe production and limit the impact of the epidemic on local socio-economic development.

The Centre for Disease Control of Quang Ngai Province (Quang Ngai CDC) has been granted an allowance from the Pasteur Nha Trang Institute in carrying out COVID-19 confirmation tests. It has been tasked with supporting other localities in COVID-19 testing when requested.

The centre is capable of carrying out testing on an average of 500 samples or 5,000 aggregate samples per day.

Up to this point, Quang Ngai province has two units for confirming tests, the other being the Department of Microbiology under the Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital.

In Long An province, its General Hospital located in Tan An city will temporarily suspend operations for 72 hours, from 9 pm on June 29 until new notice, as a cleaning worker there is suspected of having contracted COVID-19.

The hospital has asked all staff and medical workers to temporarily stay at the facility. It has been disinfected with all risk factors reviewed to ensure its safety to operate again in the next few days.

On the morning of June 30, at the headquarters of the General Association of Vietnamese People in Laos in Vientiane, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos presented 20,000 medical masks to the Vietnamese community in the host country. Previously, the Vietnamese Government also donated 75,000 medical masks to support overseas Vietnamese in Laos.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vu Tu Oanh, Community Counsellor in the embassy, said the Prime Minister has agreed to support the Vietnamese community in Laos with US$40,000 from the Vietnam Fund Against COVID-19. In the near future, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos will receive the money and give it to the General Association of Vietnamese People in Laos.
