The red zones denote very high risks of infection while the orange zones represent high risks.
Ho Chi Minh City CDC Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Tam said, the ratio of positive samples to total samples in the red and orange zones was 3.6% in the first round and then dropped to 2.7% and 1.3% in the second and third rounds, respectively.
In the green zones, where the risks are low, the positive rate is 0.78%.
Tam said such figures show that the division of Ho Chi Minh City into different zones according to infection risks has been relatively accurate.
On September 12, Ho Chi Minh City reported 6,158 cases, out of the national tally of 11,478.
With regards to the re-opening of traditional markets, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Nguyen Phuong said that when the epidemic prevention measures meet the requirements, such markets will be allowed to resume operation.
According to Colonel Le Manh Ha of the city’s police department, 116 camera devices have been installed across the city to scan QR codes for checking travel permits.
He added that measures will be stepped up in the coming days to ensure that distancing rules are followed and to punish those violating regulations and faking documents.
