Vietnam and Russia accelerate cooperation in production of COVID-19 vaccines

A roundtable seminar entitled "Moscow - Hanoi: Prospects for economic, scientific and technological cooperation" took place in Moscow, Russia, on November 11, with the aim to seek opportunities and accelerate cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in the production of COVID-19 vaccines as well as therapeutic drugs.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia as well as leading medical and pharmaceutical companies from the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi emphasised that the COVID-19 pandemic has left many negative consequences, but also opened new areas of interaction between Vietnam and Russia, of which the most prominent and urgent is the cooperation in the production of vaccines and drugs to treat COVID-19.

Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi highly lauded the achievements that the Russian Federation has obtained in research, development, production of vaccines and drugs to treat COVID-19, as well as the effective coordination between the two countries in the fight against the pandemic.

The Ambassador also shared their hope that the roundtable seminar, with the presence of large companies from both Russia and Vietnam, will create an opportunity to accelerate bilateral cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.

At the event, representatives of Russian companies such as Binnopharm, Bronemed, BioTech, Promomed, etc.introduced the strengths of the businesses, with many test kits and COVID-19 treatment products.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese companies, including T&T Group, Biopharma, and DS-Bio, affirmed their wish to cooperate with Russian partners in the fields of pharmaceuticals and biological products, especially the production of vaccines and therapeutic drugs against COVID-19.

Within the framework of the event, a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding took place between Biopharma and Biotech, and between T&T and Bronemed.
