The donation is part of Argentina’s aid package of nearly one million COVID-19 vaccine doses to five countries around the world.

In addition to Vietnam, Argentina will provide 450,000 doses to Mozambique, 18,000 doses to Santa Lucia, 11,000 to Saint Vincent and Grenadines and 2,000 to Dominica.

According to a decree signed by President Alberto Fernandez, joint efforts from all nations are important to limit the economic and health impacts of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

The Argentine Government affirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic is a global challenge that requires a united strategy towards equitable access to vaccines around the world.

In the context of 75% of the population in Argentina having been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines and 56.5% having completed the immune regimen, the Argentine Government determined this as the right time to share vaccines with other countries, making its contribution to the common fight against the pandemic.
