More medical equipment presented to support localities in fighting COVID-19

As many as 100,000 COVID-19 quick test kits along with a real-time PCR system for COVID-19 testing worth nearly 7 billion VND were presented to Kien Giang Province at a ceremony on December 1.

The medical equipment was donated by T&T Group and the Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB).

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Luu Trung expressed his gratitude for the donors’ support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the locality.

He stressed that the provincial authorities have taken measures towards safe and flexible adaptation to and effective control of COVID-19 with a focus on protecting the health and lives of the people, resuming socio-economic activities, and ensuring social order and safety.

* The same day, Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and Head of the provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, visited a COVID-19 treatment hospital in Son Tinh District and presented it with 200 personal protective suits and medical equipment worth 100 million VND.

Addressing the event, she spoke highly of the efforts of doctors and medical staff at the hospital to work day and night in taking care of and treating COVID-19 patients.

She called on leaders of the hospital to pay special attention to ensuring the safety of frontline workers and preventing cross-infection in the hospital.

* Also, on December 1, 8 electric syringe pumps were donated to the Field Hospital No.16 in Ho Chi Minh City as part of a social programme hosted by Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper.

The programme has mobilised around 5 billion in cash along with medical supplies and equipment to support frontline workers in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong Province and Dong Nai Province.

* In Thai Binh Province, Maxport Limited Vietnam presented 31 electric syringe pumps worth nearly 1 billion VND to the provincial Health Department to help the locality in containing the COVID-19 pandemic.
