Since the beginning of 2022, Hanoi has recorded 93 cases of dengue. Although the disease is essentially under control, it is expected that the number of cases will continue to increase in the near future because of the hot and humid summer weather and heavy rain provide favourable conditions for mosquitoes to spread dengue.

In order to proactively prevent and control dengue and implement activities to respond to the ASEAN Dengue Day 2022 in the city, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung requested that the city’s Health Department closely monitor the dengue situation in the area.

He asked for enhanced inspection, detection and timely handling of dengue outbreaks and cases.

The city's healthcare facilities need to ensure adequate supply of drugs, supplies, equipment, and fluid therapy for the treatment of dengue patients, he stressed.

It is also necessary to accelerate communication activities to raise public awareness of dengue prevention and control measures, he added.
