The 2,800sq.m centre will have 10 consulting rooms, 15 patient rooms, four endoscopic diagnostic rooms and three surgery rooms.
It will be equipped with modern medical facilities, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and CT scanner systems for early detection of cancers related to the digestive system, such as stomach and rectum cancers.
“The centre will be built following European standards and will become the country’s leading endoscopic surgery facility, satisfying the increasing need for examination and treatment of people in Hanoi,” Nguyen Khac Hien, the city’s health department director, said.
It will provide training in endoscopy skills to the city’s doctors who will be trained in advanced techniques by international experts, Hien said.
With an investment of VND 150 billion (US$6.7 million) by the Hanoi People’s Committee, the centre will be managed by the Saint Paul General Hospital after construction is completed by the end of this year.
